The Aigner restaurant on Berlin’s most beautiful square, the Gendarmenmarkt, offers a blend of classicism and modernity from its interior design down to its dishes. The cuisine combines the best of both Vienna and Berlin.
The interior dates back to Vienna during the Imperial and Royal period. The famous Kaffee Aigner establishment was disassembled in 1998 and was rebuilt to integrate modern lighting concepts in the Gendarmenmarkt.
Since 1999, restaurateur Herbert Beltle and head chef Andreas Klitsch have focussed on classic Viennese dishes, like schnitzel, and exquisite creations with regional ingredients.
The restaurant seats 120 inside and 60 outside under the arcades, with a spectacular view of the French cathedral and the Gendarmenmarkt.

Alongside our menu, we offer you a range of freshly made ‘specials’. We buy fresh ingredients for these dishes each day. Please see the menu board in the restaurant’s foyer for the selection of main courses available.
Occasionally, we may not be able to offer some dishes if fresh ingredients are not available. We appreciate your understanding in these circumstances.

We serve the fillet of beef in a copper pan together with a generous helping of beef broth and root vegetables. For the first course enjoy the broth with pancake strips, followed by the main course of boiled beef served with creamed spinach & roast potatoes, as well as horseradish, apple and cream sauce, and sour cream and chives.

Plan your event with us in Aigner style – which can be held either in our restaurant for up to 200 people, in our separate Billiard Room for up to 16 people or in Delphinium, our exclusive events room, which holds up to 200 guests.
