“The Aigner stands for high-quality products - sourced primarily from the local area. We source our game, for example, rabbits, pork and lamb, directly from Brandenburg suppliers in the surrounding area. We want to indulge you with more dignified cuisine and hand-picked ingredients.”
Herbert Beltle - Owner
“Very happy with this place.” Chris Carson
“Super service, very nice atmosphere and great food.”
The Aigner restaurant on Berlin’s most beautiful square, the Gendarmenmarkt, offers a blend of classicism and modernity from its interior design down to its dishes. The cuisine combines the best of both Vienna and Berlin.
The interior dates back to Vienna during the Imperial and Royal period. The famous Kaffee Aigner establishment was disassembled in 1998 and was rebuilt to integrate modern lighting concepts in the Gendarmenmarkt.
Since 1999, restaurateur Herbert Beltle and head chef Andreas Klitsch have focussed on classic Viennese dishes, like schnitzel, and exquisite creations with regional ingredients.
The restaurant seats 120 inside and 60 outside under the arcades, with a spectacular view of the French cathedral and the Gendarmenmarkt.
“Excellent restaurant, perfect service, nice setting... and btw: The best Wiener schnitzel abroad I have ever had!”
Tho Jo Mel
Vienna? Berlin? Aigner is the best of both.
